Barbeque Nation Virar Review - Is it as good as it's other Mumbai outlets ? Find out now !

The Vasai Virar crowd was desperately waiting for Barbeque Nation to come closer to them. Now that an outlet has been opened at Virar, everyone around is flocking the place to garb on the delicious kebabs and what not. Let's find out if it matches up with it's other outlets in Mumbai.

The Food

The food is bang on. The quality is great, the quantity is well great considering the best thing about them i.e the starters are unlimited in a buffet dining booking.

Veg Skewers

Pure vegetarians will find this place a bit pricey since there are only 3 options in veg that is the Paneer Skewers, Mushroom Skewers and Pineapple Skewers. All of the three are so yummy you will want to eat just those, Mushroom & Pineapple stand out the most while the Paneer lacks a bit of flavor and starts tasting bland after a point. The Pineapple one is so amazing that you might end up getting addicted to it.

Non Veg Skewers

Starting with the Fish Skewers, the green colored chard pieces of fish is just melt in your mouth. We frankly did not expect the fish to be of the same superior quality that is served at high end outlets in Mumbai but it has managed to keep the quality high in lower prices. Baasa fish never really tasted so good without being loaded with spices.

The tiger prawns deserve a separate mention since it is every fish lover's delight. The tiger prawns skewers were again mildly spiced yet amazingly flavorful and fresh. The best part about Barbeque Nation's food is that one can really taste the flavor of the main ingredient and it is not suppressed by usage of powerful spices and condiments. The chicken drumsticks were tender but kind of bland and lacked flavor.
We would really love to see a few more fishes being explored here.

The Chicken skewers are Kebabs are deli-sh but stand no chance in front of the fish skewers. The mutton seekh kebabs are mouth wateringly smooth but lack a bit flavor, a few more chillies and they would win the game.

The Beverages

Right from Virgin Mojito to the Gauva, they have pretty decent flavors, the Gauva one tasted canned though.

The Buffet

Desserts are hands down the best part of the buffet which has a lot other items like Biryani, Salads and Gravies. Biryani was a bit dry and lacked that omg feel. Salads were okay and they had only one fruit i.e Watermelon which was a bit disappointing. Ice cream which was available in 2 flavors (vanilla & Strawberry) was yummy and the syrups provided to go with it made the simple Vanilla ice cream amazingly awesome. The gulab jamuns were pipping hot and were a treat alongside the chilled ice cream.

Their Live Kulfi corner which is alongside a Pani Puri corner is a must visit. The Pani puri has 3 flavors to choose from; Gauva, Orange and Regular. It was a bit disappointing though that a plate had only 3 puris in it.The Kulfi corner also has Falooda which is average. Kulfis are available in great varieties like Paan, Kesar Pista, Strawberry and Oreo, we tried Oreo and had to reorder the same due to it's high level of savageness.

Ambience

The ambience is casual and has appropriate moving space. Huge glass windows showcasing Virar's mountains add to the beauty of the decor.

If you love Kebabs and grilled food then this is definitely the place to be.
